Dupe Alert: ELF Studio Baked Palette in NYC & Sephora Moonshadow in the Dark Palette

Eyes Lips Face Cosmetics (also known as E.L.F.) has always had a great range of cosmetics at an affordable price. They recently introduced 2 new baked eye shadow palettes which look incredibly similar to palettes that I spotted at Sephora a few months ago. Although I do not own either of the 2 Sephora palettes, I did see them in the store and was able to swatch the shadows. Both the Sephora and the E.L.F palettes feature 10 gorgeous baked shadows, with Sephora’s being slightly more pigmented and glittery in comparison.

The E.L.F palette is also available in 2 colour options, a cool and a warm palette (NYC & California). I opted for the NYC palette since I already have too many neutral brown shadows in my collection. It definitely looks like it could be a dupe for Sephora’s Moonshadow – In the Dark palette. The E.L.F baked palettes retail for only $10US, a third of the Sephora price and are available online at www.eyeslipsface.com. “Baked in an oven, these eye shadows offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. Infused with active key ingredients Jojoba, Rose, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. The long-lasting and shimmering color can be worn wet for a vibrant effect or dry for sheer pigmentation, offering a variety of gorgeous eye looks!”

Sephora’s “Moonshadow – In the Dark” baked palette features a range of deep, dark shimmering shades for that perfect smoky eye. The palette retails for $28US/ $31CDN and includes baked shadows in lavender, cobalt blue, brown, black, gold and more.

I think they look almost identical.
