3 Skincare Products that I’ve Been Loving Lately! #philosophy

As a beauty blogger, I change up my beauty routine fairly often in order to test out so many new products launching every day. When it comes to skincare however, I tend to trudge more slowly to ensure that I’ve given products enough time to work their magic or fall flat on their faces. I’ve recently fallen in LOVE with the three philosophy skin care products below and when I love something this much, I just have to scream it from the rooftops! From a firming eye serum to a revitalizing mist, this trio has made my skin look and feel its best for the last several months and I can’t wait to share all the exciting details with you!

Philosophy-skin-warriorsThe MicroDelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel ($70 USD/$88 CAD)

Philosophy’s MicroDelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel (Dual-Action Peel Pads) “deliver great results in the comfort of your own home with zero downtime”. The product comes in the form of 12 individually wrapped, pre-saturated chemical peel pads (designed for weekly use) that are meant to deliver advanced skin brightening and anti-aging benefits in as little as 12 weeks. The formula contains mandelic, phytic and azelaic acids (known for their resurfacing & brightening qualities) that dissolve and sweep away dead/dull skin cells. You guys all know the damage that not removing dead skin can do to your complexion. Getting rid of it can significantly improve your skin’s tone and buffer the appearance of fine lines. In addition to the triple-acid formulation, these pads also feature a skin-brightening technology that is said to reduce the appearance of dark spots and discolouration after just a few uses.

As many of you know, my skin is fairly normal, however in the last decade or so, it has become much more sensitive. I also suffer from redness and discolouration. I wanted to try something that not only brightened my skin but also helped to exfoliate it. The verdict. I have been loving these pads so far! Mind you, I’ve only used 8 of the 12 pads included in the box to date, but already I’ve noticed an improvement with my skin’s tone and clarity. Nothing too brightening just yet but definietly an improvement in tone and clarity. I love that these pads are are gentle, non-stinging and that they don’t burn my skin like other chemical skin peels do. Absolutely no redness! I was actually thinking about visiting a med spa to get a professional chemical peel treatment done. Someone told me that Infinity Med Spa has been voted #1 for advanced chemical peels and vi peels in the Valencia – Santa Clarita area, so I might book an appointment there.

How to: Swipe one pad over clean, dry face in the evening, avoiding the eye area. Wait 3-5 minutes then rinse. Available at Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart and The Bay in Canada.

philosophy-triple-action-padsRenewed Hope in a Jar MicroRenewal Hydrating Mist ($30 USD/$32 CAD)

I’ve always enjoyed the hydrating effects that a good skin mist provides to my skin. Add a slight tingling sensation with no adverse skin reaction and you’ve got yourself a winner! Philosophy recently renewed the formulation of their hero product (Hope in a Jar) and also released a range of companion products. Among them….. Renewed Hope in a Jar MicroRenewal Hydrating Mist. Formulated with a liquid blend of “non-stop skin renewal technology”, this mist instantly refreshes, re-energizes and rehydrates my skin. It can be applied throughout the day (with or without makeup) for an instant moisture boost. Umm, I’m completely addicted!

Time in a Bottle for Eyes (Daily Age-Defying Eye Serum) ($65 USD/$72 CAD)

Call it genetics, or maybe even age, but I have the worst under eye circles imaginable. The fine lines around my eye area aren’t that noticeable but as I said, my bags are bigger than the tea variety. I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing that there was a way to turn back or freeze time. For years, I’ve had to rely on full coverage concealers to mask the situation, however I may have found a better solution to look more rested? Philosophy’s first ever preventative and corrective daily age-defying eye serum “brightens, tightens and smoothes the appearance of the eye contour”. Time in a Bottle for Eyes is a gel-like serum that works to prevent damage via its DNA renewal complex. The complex along with Vitamin C, caffeine and other ingredients provide extra benefits against puffiness and dark circles. Does it deliver on its claims? While I still have dark circles, the serum has firmed up the skin around my eyes, reduced puffiness and brightened the area overall. I really like this product because I can actually feel it working, it makes me look more rested and because it comes in a convenient pump dispenser!
