Review & Giveaway: OBAGI Professional-C Serum 15%

Happy weekend lovelies! I’ve got a sick little one at home today but my husband recently tested out Obagi’s Professional-C Serum (15%) and said he was ready to deliver his verdict, so I thought I’d jump online to provide a quick update while she napped. Obagi, is a physician-dispensed skin care company whose products have been designed to help minimize the appearance of premature skin aging, hyper-pigmentation, acne and sun damage. They have everything from retinol to ELASTI-derm products….and you can find the brand primarily through dermatologists, plastic surgeons and medical spas.

My husband has been using the Professional-C Serum 15% for the last 3-4 weeks. It comes in 10% (sensitive skin), 15% and 20% options. He applies 4-5 drops of the Vitamin C serum to his face in the morning after cleansing his skin. On days when he also shaves, he tends to use a bit more (7-8 drops), claiming that “it feels super hydrating after a shave”. Women should apply this product on cleansed skin, before applying their sunscreen and makeup for the day. The entire range of Pro-C products, which also includes suncare and an eye brightener are formulated with L-ascorbic Acid, which helps defend against the visible signs of skin aging. Topical antioxidants like this one help prevent signs of aging caused by sun exposure. My husband has never used a daily sunscreen (unless he’s on the beach in the tropics) so his skin over time has lost elasticity, tone and it appears dull. Fine lines are also visible and breakouts are quite frequent. After just a few days of using this serum, he noticed a change in his skin’s tone and texture. There was also subtle tingling and a fresh citrus scent. While he says that fine lines are still present around the eyes and on the forehead, he’s noticed a reduction in breakouts and says the “patches of dryness are now no longer obvious”. From my perspective (I am the beauty expert after all!), I say that if’s possible for a man’s complexion to “glow” then his definitely does. He plans on sticking to this product until it runs out and is pleased with the results so far!
