Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain: Photos & Initial Review

Revlon has managed to captivate my attention yet again with their “Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain”. Resembling Clinique’s Chubby Sticks, Revlon’s version of these “chubby pencils” are super pigmented (especially the darker shades) and long-wearing. I finally managed to get my hands on a few while in the USA recently, after being unsuccessful back in June when Jess first introduced me to these while we were in LA for IMATS.

These lip balm stains are available in 12 gorgeous shades ranging from a sheer wash of colour to very dark. Rather than sharpening, the pencils simply twist up from the bottom. I love that these are “no fuss” and “portable”. You can easily throw one in purse for touch ups throughout the day. Although, I must say, the staying power on these is pretty impressive, so you may not even need touch ups. When I initially applied these, the texture and feel reminded me a lot of Revlon’s lip butters, but the coverage is different. The Balm Stains far outlast the Lip Butters in staying power, however both leave the lips very hydrated.

These have a minty scent which is not exactly my cup of tea, but nothing too bothersome. I really love the glossy shine these give off. After a few hours, the glossiness fades and a subtle, gorgeous stain is left behind on the lips.
