Maybelline has come out with their own version of the lipstick/lip balm hybrid with their new Color Whisper Lipsticks.  Available in 20 soft, luscious shades, these “lipsticks” pack some serious color and shine.

With no heavy waxes or oils, and pure-pigment suspended in a weightless clear gel, the Color Whispers provide the perfect soft, sexy see-through colour. The entire range varies from sheer to full-coverage, but the ones I’ve tried have excellent colour payoff and a high sheen finish. I have three of them and each one glides on smooth and feels lightweight on the lips. These are part-lipstick, so they pack some serious pigmentation but because these are also part-balm, they don’t last very long on the lips. I don’t mind at all, since I have really been loving the texture of these. I hope Maybelline comes out with some more lighter pink options, because I’d be all over that! I’d also be interested to see how the lighter, more nude shades measure up in comparison since I find those to be more wearable for my taste. Regardless of your preference though, this range has something for everyone and if you love the Loreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks or Revlon Lip Butters, you also need to give these a try!
