New Shades: Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butters for Spring/Summer 2013

This Spring, Revlon has released four new shades in their popular ColourBurst Lip Butter range.  I really love these buttery balms and went so far to call them “heaven in a tube” last year when I reviewed and swatched 13 of their permanent shades here.

Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butters – New Shades for Spring 2013

The four new colours have the same formula and pigmentation as the others do. They are all very moisturizing and have decent wear time for a lip balm. I love that these balms have just the right amount of pigmentation, feel great on, and moisturize and condition my lips in a noticeable way. Unlike other balms, most of these look like a sheer lipstick so they’re perfect if you want subtle colour as well as the benefits of a hydrating lip balm. If you prefer more colour, the shades can be built-up in intensity and/or some pack enough colour themselves. There is a lot of variety and something for everyone in the range.

Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butters – $9.50 CDN / 0.09 oz

Pink Lemonade is a pale peachy pink shade that looks the most natural on my lips. This has very little pigment and is the sheerest of the bunch but this shade would look great paired with a sultry smokey or dramatic eye.

Sorbet is a deep-toned bright pink.  It’s a gorgeous shade for Spring/Summer, especially now that bright colours are on trend. This one is sheer but definitely packs some colour.

Juicy Papaya is a beautiful subtle coral tint that looks very natural and effortless. This one is my favourite and looks best on my skin tone!

Wild Watermelon is a pink-toned red with high shine that looks more pink on my lips than it does red. The most pigmented of the four, I’ll definitely be reaching for this one come Summer.
