Review: Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover for Waterproof & Heavy Makeup

The only time I ever wear waterproof mascara is when I know I’ll be swimming or spending a lot of time outdoors in the heat. As for “hard to remove” eyeliners and other heavy makeup, I usually reserve both for special occasions (i.e. weddings, photo shoots, Halloween) . As most of you know I have been using the Bioderma Micelle Solution for as long as I can remember to remove my makeup on a daily basis and although I swear by its effectiveness, the one thing it doesn’t do as well as it could is remove the “tough stuff”….so I went on a mission to find something that would.

Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover (Waterproof & Heavy Makeup) $27 CDN – 125ml

Clarins has an eye makeup remover liquid especially made for heavy makeup so I decided to give it a try. Instant Eye Makeup Remover for Waterproof & Heavy Makeup is a bi-phase lotion that instantly removes any kind of makeup easily. This stuff seriously works! I’ve been testing it out with stubborn waterproof products for the last month and there isn’t an eye liner or mascara that it hasn’t been able to tackle head on. I especially love that this is an alcohol-free product, doesn’t leave behind any oily residue and doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. An effective remover that preserves my delicate eye area and helps condition my lashes….sold!

How it works?

The non emulsifying oil easily breaks down pigments and waterproof products while the water removes soluble elements and other impurities. Just shake the product well to combine, apply to a cotton pad and watch your makeup disappear.

Beauty Tip: Do you ever get puffy eyes? Try soaking 2 cotton pads with a soothing makeup remover like this one. Place the wet pads in the freezer for up to 10 minutes. Then place the pads over your eyes (a few minutes should do) to awaken and refresh your tired, puffy eyes.
