Beauty Brands go PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

The risk of getting breast cancer for a woman in her 30s is approximately 1 in 250. Those of us with a mother, sister, or daughter with breast cancer are twice at risk of developing the disease. For anyone living with cancer or know of someone who is, this can be a lot for anyone to deal with. There are organizations that help cancer patients financially, but it also important for cancer patients to have the support of their loved ones during a time like this.

Last month was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and many beauty brands released special edition products to help support various charities associated with the disease and to help raise overall awareness. I love seeing some of my favourite brands step up to raise funds and awareness for such a great cause! As well as raising awareness for breast cancer, which is so important, they were also able to raise awareness about their brand too. This is something we took inspiration from and thought it would be best to use social media a lot more than we have been doing before. We thought that as the platform TikTok is becoming popular, so we wanted to jump on it and create content that addressed our brand, as well as raising awareness of breast cancer. Before all this, we were clueless, but it took some time to get to grips with it. For more information, click to view how businesses can boost their social profile. Any company/ influencer with a following should use social media platforms to reach out to their audience, especially when it comes to something as important as cancer. Anyway, on a more positive note, here is a quick summary of some of my favourite promotions available in stores now…..

Five of Matrix’ bestsellers (Proforma Hairspray & Freezing Spray pictured below) got a makeover for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! The brand is donating a portion of the retail sales of pink products to the Look Good Feel Better Foundation to help women suffering from cancer feel their best.

I first introduced you to the OPI Pink of Hearts set here. This year is OPI’s seventh year releasing a limited edition Pink of Hearts promotion. Of the sales, $5000 will be donated to Rethink Breast Cancer whose mission is to pioneer cutting edge breast cancer education, research and support. The set features the popular, sheer pink Pink-ing of You and the sparkle-packed More Than A Glimmer, as well as pink ribbon and crystal decals that can be used to embellish nails. The bottles themselves feature a special pink ribbon cap wrap that further supports this great cause.

For a limited time, Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II includes an exclusive Pink Ribbon Bracelet. The Evelyn Lauder Dream Collection helps raise awareness that early detection saves lives. For each purchase of Advanced Night Repair with the bracelet, Estée Lauder will donate 20% of the suggested retail price to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

With the purchase of every Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, (special packaging includes a new key ring with a “C” shaped charm and a set of three hearts ornamented with ribbons), $10 will be donated to the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The charity is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.

And last but certainly not least, Avon’s special promotion includes jewelry and accessories all under $6 with 100% of the net profits going to breast cancer research, awareness and support services!!
