With TIFF 2013 (the Toronto International Film Festival) in full effect, it’s the perfect time to introduce L’Oreal Paris’ new collection of celebrity inspired “nude” lip and nail colours. Collection Privée by Colour Riche (in stores this month) includes 4 lipstick and nail polish combinations inspired by L’Oreal Paris spokeswomen and actresses (Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes and Freida Pinto).

The Collection Privée Colour Riche Lipsticks all feature limited edition packaging and come in a matte, black tube with gold detailing and the celebrity’s signature on the base. Here is more information on each shade:
> The Doutzen Nude is fresh, feminine and elegant. A pale, baby pink with the tiniest amount of frost.
> The Eva Nude radiates a warm, mid-tone nude
> The Freida Nude is a sophisticated cool, mid-tone violet nude
> The J.Lo Nude is a chic, light neutral beige
Each lipstick is very neutral and natural looking when applied on the lips. With respect to colour, all four shades are more sheer than they are pigmented. The lipsticks are very lightweight and have a nice glossy sheen to them. The formula doesn’t last very long and requires frequent re-application but these lipsticks do make lips look and feel hydrated. The only thing I wish L’Oreal would consider changing about this range of lipsticks (Colour Riche) is their somewhat strong & unpleasant fragrance.

The Privée Colour Riche Nail Polishes are the perfect compliment to the Colour Riche lipsticks in this collection. They feature the celebrity’s signature on the bottle as well.
> The Doutzen Nude: A pale/sheer baby pink
> The Eva Nude: A deep, espresso brown
> The Freida Nude: A mid-tone, warm taupe
> The J.Lo Nude: A cool, mid-tone grey
These neutral nail lacquers offer a creamy formula and a shiny texture (hard to capture in the photo below). Eva, J.Lo & Freida required 2 coats for a gorgeous opaque finish. Doutzen had the least amount of opacity and was the most sheer of the bunch. I would skip this one if you have a shade that’s similar like OPI’s “Bubble Bath”, in your collection already. I think the other three polishes are great options for Fall/Winter.
