The hero product in the Toleriane Ultra range for me is Toleriane Ultra Nuit. It really helps your skin detoxify overnight. The ultra-calming formula for hyper-sensitive skin types combines not one but two powerful antioxidants (carnosine & vitamin E) to protect and soothe the skin. It also contains neurosensine, a calming agent that targets all types of skin irritation. Add to that, La Roche-Posay’s Thermal Spring Water, glycerin and shea butter and you’ve got the first high-tolerance night cream to fully relieve ultra-sensitive skin. Even upon waking.
Why is using an anti-oxidant rich formula like Toleriane Ultra Nuit before bed so important?
- When our skin is exposed to internal & external irritants like pollution, UV rays, smoking, alcohol and stress, it produces free radicals – aggressive molecules that can create skin damage if antioxidants aren’t around to neutralize them
- To defend themselves, skin cells produce antioxidant enzymes and molecules such as vitamins A, C and E
- In sensitive or intolerant skin the recovery process is not sufficient and an inflammatory cascade occurs (also known as the “histamine effect”) which creates redness, itchiness and inflammation
- Without Toleriane Ultra Nuit to detoxify your skin overnight, toxins get stored and you wake up looking exhausted
If you have sensitive or intolerant skin and you haven’t tried La Roche-Posay products then you are likely suffering unnecessarily. Over the years, I have come to really love their thermal water, cleansers and sunscreen. I mentioned in my last post, I noticed results almost immediately when I first incorporated the Toleriane trio into my daily routine. My skin had started to really look and feel tired to the point that co-workers were asking me if I got enough sleep the night before? I’ve been using the Toleriane Ultra Fluide, Ultra Nuit & Contour Yeux every day and night since September. The range has helped to provide relief, comfort and much-needed hydration to my skin. My skin was itchy & irritated. I also had inflammation around my eyes and nose (from all the sneezing I was doing!). All of it – is gone and any redness I had has also significantly reduced as well.
The texture of Toleriane Ultra Nuit (night cream) is very lightweight (somewhere between a gel and a cream) and absorbs quickly, melting into the skin as it provides relief. If your skin could speak, it would say “ahh” every time you applied it. There is no stinging or itching whatsoever. Toleriane Ultra Fluide (day cream) has a lovely texture that isn’t heavy or greasy and Toleriane Ultra Yeux (eye cream) works magic by decreasing puffiness and soothing the irritated skin around my eyes.
