With over 250 fragrances to choose from, the Demeter Fragrance Library has some of the most unique and personal scents I’ve ever come across. Some of my favourites are Gingerbread, Mulled Cider and Vanilla Ice Cream. Demeter also has scents in their library that are more personal and these choices are meant to evoke/convey something meaningful to each user. (i.e. Dirt, Clean Skin, Swimming Pool, Laundromat) 

To celebrate their newest scents coming out this month, Demeter developed a “secret recipe” inspired by Dark Chocolate & Vanilla Cookie Dough.

Dark Chocolate is described as “a silky smooth, absolutely sensual and indulgent chocolate fragrance….deep, rich & exotic”.  Dark chocolate history dates back over 3000 years and is still one of the world’s most popular treat today.

Vanilla Cookie Dough is described as “dense, delicious and full-bodied”. A vanilla-lover’s delight without the cloying sweetness that vanilla fragrances can develop. It was inspired by Mark Crame’s (Demeter CEO) 13 year old daughter who recently discovered the wonders of edible cookie dough (no eggs).

Demeter’s Secret Recipe:
Vanilla Cookie Dough with Dark Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients:

1/4 cup softened butter or margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tbsp. agave, honey or maple syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of oat flour or (1/2 cup ground oats) 
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F.

> In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well combined. 
> Add egg, syrup and vanilla and beat until smooth.
> Add the all-purpose flour, oat flour, baking soda and salt and stir until combined;
> Add chocolate chips and stir until blended.
> Drop spoonfuls of dough on a sprayed cookie sheet & push down slightly on each cookie. 
> Bake for 10-12 minutes.
> Makes 20-24 cookies.
