Review: Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (Baume Beauté Eclair)

When my skin needs a “surge of energy” or a quick pick me up, I like to reach for my Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. This lightweight balm smooths, brightens, tightens and gives my skin instant radiance, especially when it’s looks and feels fatigued and/or stressed. I haven’t seen too many products quite like this one on the market today and I can totally appreciate why it has such a cult following. (Madonna, Demi Moore, Cindy Crawford & Reese Witherspoon all love it!) It really does help eliminate signs of fatigue in a flash!

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm – $50 CDN / 50ml

I have always been a bigger fan of
Clarins skincare products than I have been of their cosmetics, although I enjoy both. I find their skincare products to be incredibly gentle and I just can’t seem to live without a few of them in my skincare arsenal.
This is one of those products! It’s enriched with a marine-based ingredient complex that uses micro-algae to smooth the appearance of surface skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. Another key ingredient is Bisabolol which helps to restore the skin’s youthful glow.

In my opinion, this product is part moisturizer and part primer. It provides lightweight moisture to the skin and also preps it for makeup application and hours of luminous wear. The formula is light, creamy and absorbs easily. It leaves behind a dewy finish that makes my skin feel very hydrated and smooth. With consistent use, you’ll start to see a healthier-looking complexion that appears brighter and more radiant. Although it smells very fresh and clean, the fragrance may be too strong for some people, even though I personally have no issues with the scent.

How to Use:

Beauty Flash Balm can be used for different purposes. It can be used as a soothing fatigue-fighting mask or as a radiance booster. To use as a mask, apply a thick layer to the skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Absorb any excess with a facial tissue.

As a radiance booster, apply a thin layer to cleansed/toned skin in the morning or in the evening before going out. Smooth gently over skin but do NOT massage in. Apply makeup immediately.

Overall, I think this product is great for dry/combination/normal skin types. I’d especially recommend it for more sallow/dull skin but really, anyone can use it. It does a fabulous job of energizing the skin. You can really see how the skin just “perks up” when you apply it. I also love the non-greasy natural glow you get with this product. It’s truly remarkable. If your skin is oily or you don’t like strong fragrances, be sure to try out a sample size of this product before committing to purchase the full size. But, I’m almost sure most of you will LOVE it!
