Happy New Year beauties! I hope you all had a wonderful evening last night. Here’s wishing that 2014 turns out to be a fantastic year filled with exciting new beginnings, health and happiness for all of us!
Today, I wanted to introduce you to a product that many of you (especially my readers in the US) may not be as familiar with. Gosh Cosmetics is a Denmark-based company whose products are sold exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Canada. The brand is also widely available in the UK and Europe and is slowly making it’s way to the USA.
Last Fall, Gosh launched their CC Cream – Illuminating Foundation. The product claims to provide light coverage while illuminating the skin and keeping it well hydrated. CC creams (or Colour Correcting Creams as they are more commonly known as) address skincare problems like redness and/or dullness and have been called industry secret weapons?
GOSH CC Cream Illuminating Foundation – $24 CDN/30ml |
For me, the Gosh CC Cream is a great alternative to foundation on days that I need my skin to look even-toned & “awake” and don’t need full coverage. I tend to prefer my makeup to have a lighter feel/finish and have always gravitated towards BB creams, light foundations and/or tinted moisturizers. This product isn’t heavy at all, which I really like. I also love the illuminating finish that it leaves behind on the skin. This product does a great job of evening out my skin tone and dulling out any redness that I have on my cheeks, nose and chin. I would not recommend this product if you are looking for something to conceal significant breakouts or really problematic skin conditions but if you like lighter coverage products that are oil-free and have an SPF, then this one is a good option for you to try. Just keep in mind however, that although this is technically called a “foundation”, it doesn’t entirely function like one.
Product Benefits:
> Delivers lightweight coverage & moisture to the skin
> Illuminates the skin
> Provides a natural dewy finish without making skin look greasy
> Evens out skin tone (light reflecting pigments hide minor skin imperfections)
> Includes active ingredient Gatuline Radiance that keeps skin looking flawless
> Oil, perfume and paraben free
> Contains SPF 10 and anti-aging properties that improve skin microcirculation
> Comes in a convenient & mess-free squeeze tube with a hygienic nozzle applicator
Other Comments:
> Has a scent to it (the product is perfume free) that I can not quite place
> It does not provide medium/full coverage if that is what you are looking for
> Setting the CC Cream with a powder will improve its wear time
> It’s not thick enough to conceal dark under eye circles on its own but works well when used in conjunction with your regular concealer
> This product has a thin liquid consistency – it glides on smooth and blends well
