Is it me, or do at-home LED lamps keep getting smaller? The Quo by Orly LED that I wrote about last July was the smallest and sleekest I had ever encountered until now (remember the one that looked like an IPhone?). I think it’s safe to say that the days of using cumbersome LED lamps at home are gone. Today, they’re all about being functional, portable and compact. The newest kid on the block is the Fuse Gelnamel System by Sensationail. Fuse combines the “best of polish colour + the best of gel into an all-in-one formula”. The biggest difference between this system and some of the others that I’ve tried (aside from it’s size) is that there is no need to apply a base or top coat. One coat of polish and 30 seconds of cure time is all you need to get a shiny manicure that lasts an entire week.

As you can see from the pictures, this LED Lamp is only big enough to cure one nail at a time. The size of it makes it great for travel and/or touch ups on the go. What is also really cool about this, is that the top of the lamp is removable which allows you to switch it around and use it on your toes! When I first opened the bottle of polish, I quickly noted how thick the formula was. I’ll be honest, I felt a little indifferent about that. Considering that the formula includes a base, colour and top coat all-in-one, I guess a thicker consistency was to be expected? Even though only 1 coat is required, I applied the first coat, cured it for 30 seconds, then applied another and cured again. This method seemed to work best for me, despite the thickness of the polish. Overall, I was really impressed. I really like how compact this lamp is and the all-in-one concept… which basically eliminates the need to apply 3 separate products. I LOVED that my manicure remained chip-free for over 1 week but I do wish the consistency of the formula was a bit thinner, which would make application a lot easier. I took a photo on Day 1 and Day 8 for comparison purposes. For optimal results, make sure that you follow the instructions carefully when using any at-home gel system.
