Essie Resort 2015 Nail Polish Collection (Photos, Review & Swatches)

This year’s resort collection by Essie includes 4 shades of polish that are meant to entice a getaway to a place of infinite tranquility and calm. The new shades may look ordinary at first glance but their subtleties and their formula are bang on! Among the new shades are a molten chocolate brown, a bluish orchid, a coral pink and a sheer pink.

Shade Details

  • Suite Retreat – blue orchid
  • Cocoa Karma– molten milk chocolate
  • Stones ‘n Roses –  petal pink coral
  • Time for Me Time – sheer blush pink

Aside from being easy on the eyes, each of the Resort 2015 nail polishes also performed very well. 3 of the 4 polishes were almost 1- coaters which made application a dream. The only shade that required 3 thin coats was Time For Me Time, which was understandable as it is the sheer in the collection. Suite Retreat, Stones ‘n Roses & Cocoa Karma looked their best in 2 thin coats, although each could have gotten away with only one. Each shade wore about 3 days before starting to chip when I wore them without a top coat. If I had to pick my favourite of the bunch it would definitely be Suite Retreat, especially as we approach Spring/Summer. I’ve seen swatches on other blogs and it seems as though this shade changes slightly on some skin tones or in certain lighting often taking on an either blue or purple vibe. I really like its versatility and the fact that it feels calming and cozy to wear. I’m not a big fan of brown polishes unless they are very dark but Cocoa Karma has a soft caramel tone to it that is very inviting. It looks sophisticated and stylish when paired with a trendy outfit. If you already have Essie’s popular shade Van d’Go, then you may want to skip Stones’ n Roses as it does have a similar hue – both are lovely but I personally prefer Van d’Go from the permanent range. And finally, for those of you who prefer more understated polishes, then Time For Me Time is a great choice. The nude-toned pinkish sheer formula makes your nail beds look super healthy and offers a slight iridescent shimmer.
