It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! The Holidays are right around the corner and for many, the shopping season has already begun! Store shelves are filling up fast with Holiday decor, gift sets and other merchandise in preparation for the “season of giving”. As a self-proclaimed beauty-addict, my friends and family often ask me for makeup and skincare product recommendations. I also love gifting them with beauty products that I know they may not purchase for themselves, I like to vary things up though so I might give them something like the Phyts organic cosmetic brands one time but then I’ll give them something else the next. But as always, I stand behind the fact that beauty doesn’t have to be expensive. Walmart has quickly become my go-to destination for many of my beauty purchases (especially for e.l.f cosmetics!). Seriously though, is there anything that you can’t find at Walmart? They offer great quality, on-trend items in store and online, at such unbeatable prices! So, no matter what your budget this Christmas, you know you are giving a great gift without breaking the bank!
This year, I’ve handpicked a number of gift-worthy items perfect for the beauty addict in your life! From gift sets to stocking stuffers and even some things for the men in your life, I’m sure you’ll find some Holiday gift inspiration below.
Every beauty addict needs the proper tools for their craft and Walmart carries wonderful makeup brush sets from Real Techniques, Eco Tools, e.l.f. Cosmetics and Still Spa Essentials at prices that just can’t be beat!
The Still Cosmetic Brush Set (pictured below) includes four makeup brush essentials for powder, shading, precision & angle– this is a great set for beginners and only retails for $10!
I also love the individual brushes and starter sets from Real Techniques – the brand made famous by sibling makeup artists from the UK Samantha & Nicola Chapman. These synthetic brushes are excellent quality, do not shed and are also easy to clean. Pictured from left to right: Eye Starter Set ($27), Blush Brush ($12), Miracle Sponges ($30), Foundation Brush ($10), Duo Fibre Set ($30) & Lash Brow Groomer ($9).
When was the last time you walked through Walmart’s beauty aisles? They carry all of the major “drugstore” beauty brands like Physicians Formula, Maybelline, L’Oreal, Essie, Covergirl, Wet’n Wild and so many other brands and they’re also the exclusive retailer for Hard Candy Cosmetics. They also carry one of my favourite on-budget brands – e.l.f. Cosmetics. If you haven’t tried their products yet, you are totally missing out! e.l.f. is well-known for being accessible, affordable and cutting edge. They’re always releasing on-trend items like the Beauty Shield bubble mask, matte lip colours, strobing highlighters and other popular products, which are surprisingly great quality for the price!
This year, my top three e.l.f. cosmetics gift ideas for the Beauty Addict are: the Mad for Matte Eye Shadow Palette ($8), the Get Glowing Highlighting Set ($15) and the Mad for Matte Lip Color Set ($15). The Mad for Matte Eye Shadow Palette is a beautiful assortment of ten neutral, matte eye shadows that resemble palettes retailing for over 6x the price! This particular palette has been taking the beauty world by storm because of its amazing quality and reasonable price tag! The Get Glowing Highlighting Set includes the popular Illuminating Palette, a highlighting brush and their shimmering Facial Whip and the Mad for Matte Lip Color Set comes with four long-lasting matte lip colours in wine, berry, red and praline.
Walmart also carries a large selection of skincare gift sets in store and online. If your loved one has a favourite brand or a specific product they love, getting them a pre-made set is a no-brainer. These sets make excellent Kris Kringle and teenager gifts too! A few skin care gems catching my eye are Nivea’s Winter Essentials Set ($15) and Marcelle’s Winter Beauty Kit ($15). Both kits have everything you need to keep skin happy all winter long including hand cream, body milk, eye makeup remover and/or cleanser and are very affordable!
For the Boys
Whoever says men are not into beauty regimes haven’t met the two I live with! Both my husband and my teenage son have grooming and skincare routines that would rival some women out there.
Here are a few standouts for the man in your life: Raptors Gift Set ($10), Dove Men+ Care Value Pack ($10), Gilette Mach 3 Gift Set ($15), adidas Moves for Him Set ($25), Old Spice Swagger Holiday Set ($15) and the Starbucks Celebration Hot Chocolate Mug Set ($25).
My favourite things to shop for (hands down!) are my family’s stockings! In my household, the bulk of each stocking is filled with chocolate and other “necessities” like socks but I always make sure there is plenty of room left over for the fun stuff! Lip balms, body mists, nail polish, fragrances, makeup and bath products are great stocking stuffer options especially for the girls on your list!
Walmart has tons of amazing items for stockings that also happen to be very easy on the wallet! From left to right: Burt’s Bees Mistletoe Kiss Lip Balms ($10), Le Petite Marseillais Shower Crème ($4), Bodycology Body Mist Gift Set ($10), Hard Candy Have a Ball Vanilla Lip Gloss ($1.50), China Glaze The Mane 6 Nail Polish Minis ($9.97), One Direction Our Moment EDP ($14.97/30ml), eos Hand Lotion ($3), The Pampery Bath Fizzer Set ($5) and Hard Candy’s Fizz Smoothie ($5).
And there you have it. Beauty gift inspirations from a beauty addict herself! No matter your budget, Walmart has the perfect gift for everyone on your Christmas list and will also match any competitor’s price (see in-store for details), so grab your car keys and your shopping list and head over (to the store or online) for all your gift-giving needs. You can also find beauty discount codes online to save you even more money so do your research before you shop!
