Raincry Professional Beauty Tools: More Than Just Brushes

While I do not have unruly, thick or frizzy hair, I do have a lot of it and that in itself can be problematic! My hair is fine, but there is so much of it, that it easily falls flat and feels heavy when wearing any style. I love using curling irons and rollers for volume but unfortunately, the curls don’t last very long in my hair. So, when I was invited to the Schwarzkopf Academy in Toronto recently to trial out some new brushes and get a salon blow-out, I thought to myself, can a brush really make a difference when styling hair like mine?  I had to find out.

When I first arrived, my hair was washed, conditioned and rinsed. I was then introduced to Feisal, an incredibly talented stylist who just also happens to be the Founder & Creative Director of Raincry Professional. The whole time he was doing my hair, we chatted. He explained that Raincry Professional brushes are manufactured in Europe, and are constructed to decrease breakage and add body to even the finest hair, like mine. While he was blowing-out my hair, I immediately noticed how quickly my hair was drying. Normally, it can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes to thoroughly dry my hair, and that’s without even styling. Feisal was using brushes from the Magnesium Volumizing Collection, which have a snag-free design and are engineered with a magnesium-core that heats and cools more efficiently. “The magnesium rods act as a heating element”, he said “and the vents help distribute the hot air throughout the strands”. The result – longer-lasting volume and curls that actually stayed despite the wet blizzard outside!

Before talking to Feisal, I honestly didn’t pay too much attention to the brushes I was using (or buying) and didn’t realize how critical they are to achieving effortless, yet fabulous looks! Feisal said, that he thought the key to this brands success was that “it was developed by stylists for stylists”. Before launching, the brushes were tested by a number of seasoned and celebrity stylists and were even used backstage at this year’s Victoria Secret Show, New York Fashion Week and the 2012 Oscars.
Although, he did not use the Nature Collection brushes on me, I still wanted to include them in this post. The Nature Series brushes use the root portion of boar bristles (the strongest and best-quality portion) and feature a spiral design. This results in a better performing brush that reduces the likelihood of brush snagging. The nature brush range is great for smoothing out thick/frizzy hair or for volumizing fine/limp hair. It is ideal for all hair types.
