Although not an official public Holiday, Valentine’s Day is definitely a day that many people look forward to every year. Restaurants are always filled to capacity, flower sales usually go through the roof and some people even take the day off to spend celebrating their “love”. I’m a firm believer that you don’t need rose petals, champagne or a box of chocolates to show someone how much you care about them. Love = always. Whether it’s your daughter, best friend or significant other, we should remind each other how we feel every day…. through patience, honesty, caring and commitment. Gifts however, are never a bad idea and sometimes all it takes is a simple card, gesture or one of the products below to put a smile on someone’s face. Hint hint…..

Top Beauty Picks for Valentine’s Day 2016
Joe Fresh Beauty – Precision Liner
This new liquid liner from the Joe Fresh Beauty range immediately got my attention when I first spotted it last month at a media event. Its design (look at that tip!) allows for ultimate precision and control when applying eyeliner. Aside from its aesthetic, I also love that it doesn’t budge (no smudging or transferring at all!) and that it comes in pen form so there is no brush or applicator required. And, can we please talk about how affordable it is? Only $8 CAD! Great job Joe Fresh! Look out for this product and others at your local Shoppers Drug Mart or Loblaws/Superstore in Canada.
Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque
I love, love, love me some Dermalogica! Many of you already know that it is one of my favourite skin care brands. Their latest innovation – the Charcoal Rescue Masque – packs some serious skin care benefits while also detoxifying and purifying your skin. You can actually feel it working to draw out impurities and excess oil. I’ve only used it a few times and already my skin is breathing new life. A must-try for problematic skin with immediate results!
The Knot Dr. PhD Hybrid Styler
My daughter has tangle-prone hair. And until now, the only thing that I’ve found to help battle those pesky knots is the Tangle Teezer. Late last year, I was introduced to a brush that is literally THE next level in detangling! The Knot Dr. carries many models of hair brushes, all of which work to effectively combat and smooth out “knotty” hair. Designed for wet or dry use, the PhD Hybrid Styler is a great, lightweight option for men, women or children. Available for purchase on the Murale website.
Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara
I first mentioned this new mascara last week when I shared a sneak peek of Elizabeth Arden’s Sunset Bronze Collection. Grand Entrance provides length, lift, curl and volume to lashes! The water-resistant formula also conditions, protects and treats your lashes, making it safe for even the most sensitive eyes!
StriVectin Hair Max Volume
When a company spends 35 years researching and developing a skin cream, you know that they mean business. And since the skin on our scalp needs TLC too, StriVectin decided to launch an entire range of hair care products (more details to come!). The Max Volume range includes a Shampoo, Conditioner, Root Lifting Spray and Bodifying Radiance Serum, all of which contain their patented NIA-114 + Protensile Amplifying Complex. More details on the entire StriVectin hair care launch coming soon!
Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base
Burberry’s Fresh Glow Base in “Nude Radiance 01” is a gold-shimmered light beige luminizer that imparts the most beautiful sheen onto the skin. Think of it as a hydrating primer and highlighter in one. Just add a few pumps to your moisturizer or foundation or wear it alone for a gorgeous dewy look. Obsessed!!
Perfume is also a great gift idea. Have you seen the new Viva la Juicy Rosé fragrance by Juicy Couture?
