Bare Escentuals BUXOM Lips: Swatches & Review

The Buxom “Time to Shine” Lip Collection is a limited edition holiday set that I picked up in December at Sephora. I’m just getting around to reviewing it now, however even though the set is no longer available, each of the glosses can be purchased separately in their full-size. I’ve always loved Bare Escentuals’ range of lip glosses and this set allowed me to sample and try different glosses and textures that I may not have otherwise purchased separately.

The set included a total of six mini lip glosses:
> two Big & Healthy Lip Creams (creamy, more pigmented) #1 & 3
> two Big & Healthy Lip Polishes – Original (shimmery) #4 & 6
> two Big & healthy lip polishes – Diamond (very glittery) #2 & 5

Buxom Lips: Time to Shine Mini Set $29 US/ $35 CDN
Each full-size lip gloss retails for $19 US / $23 CDN

These glosses smell incredible and provide decadent shine and colour. They also have a plumping factor which instantly creates the look of fuller, more voluptuous lips. The tingling isn’t too bothersome, but you definitely can feel it working. I actually like it since it provides my lips with a cool, refreshing feeling.

All Buxom glosses are infused with Vitamins E & A so they keep lips smooth and protected. They are slightly sticky but I find some of the MAC glosses stickier in comparison. I don’t mind the texture one bit and am actually finding it difficult to find anything that bothers me about this product.  If you don’t like tingling or slight stickiness, then you may not enjoy these but I would still encourage you to give them a try. Whether you prefer sheer coverage or a more bold intense shine, there is something for everyone’s taste. I’m not surprised that the Lip Polish line won Women’s Health Magazine Best Lip Gloss in 2012. They are truly that good!
