L’Oreal is well known for making some of the most voluminous mascaras on the market and last summer when they released the Voluminous False Fibre Lashes Black Lacquer, I decided to give it a try. The mascara features a unique blend of long and short nylon and rayon fibres (the same material used to make false lashes) to deliver lashes that appear fuller, longer, curled and sculpted. After applying one coat of this mascara, I immediately noticed that my lashes were darker and had more definition, but it wasn’t until I applied the second coat, that I really started to notice its lengthening and volumizing effect.

The brush does a great job of separating and coating each lash, making lashes look long and dramatic. I love the opacity of this mascara. With two coats it is by far one of the richest “blacks” I’ve tried. I did experience a tad bit of smudging underneath the eye but there was no annoying clumping or flaking otherwise.
I also didn’t notice too much of a difference between the “black lacquer” version and the original Voluminous False Fibre Lashes. While I really enjoyed the look and coverage of this mascara, I wish it didn’t dry out so quickly in the tube and overall, I think I prefer L’Oreal’s Voluminous Mascara Carbon Black.
