Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish: A Quick Review

Rimmel London has revamped their 60-second line of nail polishes. They’ve  changed the shape of the original bottle, come out with a new brush and have even released a ton of new shades. These polishes are extremely affordable and promise the “perfect nail coverage” in only one coat. They also claim to dry in 60 seconds (hence their name!). There are a total of 16 new shades (some of which I tested and photographed below).

Rimmel London 60 Second Nail Polish – $3.99 CDN
The first thing I noticed about this polish range was their very “on-trend” assortment of colours. I’ve always preferred more opaque/creamy looking polishes in bold, rich colours so these were right up my alley. Although these claim to be one-coaters, I do think that the shades below look better with 2 coats. I also recommend using a top coat with these….in fact you should always use a top coat, since applying one makes your manicure look better and last longer.

Rimmel’s fast-dry formula did dry very quickly. I didn’t exactly time it but it felt like over a minute before I could safely touch my nails. I experienced no chipping for a good three days which is an average time frame but for the price of these polishes, it was a pleasant surprise.  Another thing I really liked about this range was the revamped brush. It is flat, wide and makes application super easy. It reminded me a lot of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure brush. Some of you may find it too wide but honestly it depends on the size of your nails. I love it since applying less strokes means your polish applies quicker. Here are photos of a few of the new shades:

Rimmel – Sweet Lavender #420
Rimmel Blue My Mind #240
