My Take On Facial Oils & A First Impression: L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Glow Renewal Facial Oil

Despite the growing popularity of facial oils, the mere idea of applying one to the face still intimidates a lot of people. I personally have no issues with it, especially after discovering the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil this past year and recently trying out some others. L’Oreal recently came out with their first ever facial oil: Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Glow Renewal Facial Oil and so far, I’ve really been enjoying it! Formulated for dull, dry or mature skin, this lightweight, ultra-penetrating oil contains eight essential & precious oils which hydrate, nourish and replenish all skin types. But that’s not all…. the oils also restore skin’s radiance and tone, making it glow without clogging pores.

Surprisingly, even oily skin types can benefit from a good quality facial oil. How, you might be wondering? When skin is stripped of it’s natural oil, it actually produces more of it. So, to help restore the natural balance to oily skin and slow down it’s natural oil production, lightweight treatment oils like this one help… Another good option is the Josie Maran Argan Oil which penetrates deeply and doesn’t leave behind a greasy-looking shine.

L’Oreal’s new facial oil is extremely hydrating and absorbs into the skin fairly quickly. My preferred method of application is to apply a few drops of this oil in the evening after my cleansing routine. (side note: many skin experts recommend applying oils after skin has been washed) I leave it on overnight and wake up with a nice healthy-looking glow. I think it’s important to mention that when I tried using this in the morning, I felt as though my makeup slipped off soon afterwards so I’ve just continued with night-time use. It makes my skin feel so soft and supple! It also makes it feel and look less dull overall. So far so good!!
