My Kind of Holiday! Target Holiday 2014 at WMCFW (**PIC HEAVY!)

As most of you know I spent a few days backstage recently at World Mastercard Fashion Week. A recap of my entire week will follow but for now I wanted to share photos and details with you from my favourite show!

Target is such an affordable brand and since there are over 1, 888 stores in North America alone, I also love how accessible it is. While other designers showcased their Spring & Summer 2014 collections at WMCFW, Target decided to present us with their Holiday Collection. The atmosphere inside the venue was truly unforgettable! There were gifts, (cute pillows and cozy blankets randomly draped over the chairs and gift bags underneath each of the seats) there was festive music playing and there was even snow falling from the ceiling! Top model and the face of Maybelline New York, Erin Wasson, was on hand to open and close Target’s first ever runway show in Toronto. Even Bullseye (Target’s bull-terrier) was there for the finale!

The show featured home décor and over 40 holiday looks for men, women and children. While many of the shows were showcasing neutrals, Target was full of colour for the Holidays! The presentation showcased seasonal trends such as rhinestones and metallics against a colour palette of black, grey, ivory and red. Brands featured in the show included Beaver Canoe for Target, Sam & Libby, Mossimo, Merona, Threshold, Smith & Hawken, Circo, Cherokee, Foxy Original and Cocoa Jewellery.

Grace Lee, Maybelline New York’s lead makeup artist created the beauty looks for the show. One of the looks was inspired by Erin Wasson herself and included a bronzed, yet subtle smokey eye with a nude lip. It was very girl next door with a rock & roll vibe. I loved it!! The second look was more chic and bold and included the classic red lip, perfect for the Holidays.

Target presented stylish and budget-friendly looks and managed to pull off one of the most memorable shows that I’ve ever attended. There wasn’t a sole not talking about it afterwards. I was even humming holiday music for days and it wasn’t even Halloween yet! Great job Target Canada!
