Dior Trianon Collection for Spring 2014: Photos, Review and Swatches

Just when I thought I had seen it all, along comes a collection that makes me completely weak in the knees. The Spring 2014 Trianon Collection released by luxury House Dior is everything a makeup-obsessed junkie like myself looks for in Spring collection….the perfect blend of brights & pastels. It is absolutely breathtaking!

Inspired by Versailles and Marie-Antoniette, Trianon, which contains feminine shades you’d expect to see with a Spring collection is still turning heads since it’s mid-January counter release. The collection has a really beautiful, delicate, sweet & girly feel to it. Let’s take a look….

Fusion Mono Matte ($32 CAD)

Last year, Dior released the Diorshow Fusion Mono shadows. This Spring, Dior’s matte versions of the popular cream shadow come in pretty pastels and neutrals. These beauties can be applied using your fingertips (for a soft-fusion finish) or with the mini brush applicator provided (for a more intensely pigmented finish). Available in the following shades:

091 Nocturne
121 Celeste (photographed below)
641 Fantaisie
761 Mirage (photographed below)
Backstage Prime ($30 CAD)

Dior’s new eye primer has a consistency that is comparable to that of an under eye concealer. It is lightly pigmented and dries to a powder-like finish. Not only does it create a smooth base for eye makeup to adhere to, but it also helps eye shadows wear longer, especially without creasing.

5-Couleurs Trianon Edition ($62 CAD)

This eyeshadow palette is delightfully feminine and includes five shimmering pastel shadows that all work well together or can be used on their own. “Pastel Fontanges” isn’t one of my favourite 5-Couleurs palettes that Dior has come out with, but it sure is pretty and it’s definitely a nice addition for Spring.

Diorblush Trianon Edition ($44 CAD)
Adorned with the same embossed bows as the 5-Couleurs palette, this gorgeous blush in “Corail Bagatelle” is striking and leaves behind the rosiest coral flush. I love the warmth this blush gives my cheekbones and would recommend this product to anyone!

Glow Maximizer ($42 CAD)

Designed to enhance your skin’s natural radiance, Glow Maximizer produces a beautiful rosy gold base as it primes your skin for makeup. It can be mixed in with your favourite foundation (as a booster) or used on its own to help highlight or illuminate different areas of the face. I love dewy skin finishes and have been really enjoying this product!
Pore Minimizer ($42 CAD)
Dior’s Pore Minimizer is a perfecting, mattifying base that diminishes pores and creates a matte effect on the skin. It helps smooth out fine lines and refine skin’s texture. This product works best when applied all over the face either on its own or underneath your foundation.

Dior Addict Lip Glow ($35 CAD)

Finally, the iconic Dior Lip Glow is available in Coral. Lip Glow is an uber-popular product that provides moisture and shine to lips. I haven’t met one single person that has tried this product and doesn’t LOVE it. It does a great job of enhancing lips natural colour. This coral variation is exclusively available with the Spring collection.
Dior Addict Lip Gloss ($31CAD)
One of my favourite glosses last season was the Dior Addict Lip Gloss in Enchanted Rose from Dior’s Winter Collection. With Trianon, we are introduced to two new shades: Petillante & Exquisse, both of which coordinate well with the pastel eye shadows in the collection.
Rouge Dior Lipstick ($36 CAD)
The Trianon collection also brings us two new shades of Dior’s Rouge Dior Lipstick: Allegresse, a pure fuchsia and Rose Crinoline, a pretty coral. The Rouge Dior lipsticks have a wonderful creamy texture that when applied looks very smooth and flattering on the lips.

Dior Vernis ($26 CAD)

These new Spring nail lacquers are truly covet-worthy. All three of them are simply gorgeous….I can’t imagine having to choose between them. Inspired by seasonal flower hues, the Dior Vernis are well pigmented, long-lasting and dry to a glossy, gorgeous finish. Available in the following shades:

Bloom (pure fuchsia)

Bouquet (soft peach)
Porcelaine (cornflower blue) ** click on the link to see this shade swatched on the nails
Dior Shimmering Matte Effect Top Coat ($26 CAD)

Designed to give nails a “sugar-almond” look, this shimmering matte effect top coat (in colour Perle) adds dimension to the lacquer shades mentioned above or any of your favourite polishes. Adding this top coat is a matter of preference and would appeal to those who prefer a more frosted matte effect over a glossy high-shine finish.
