The newest lip offering from L’Oreal Paris is a hybrid between a liquid lipstick and a lip gloss. Many brands on jumping on the multi-functional lip product bandwagon and I couldn’t be more excited! Extraordinaire by Colour Riche™ Lip Colors have the high-shine finish of a gloss and the high-impact pigment of a lipstick. They contain luxurious micro-oils that hydrate lips, making them comfortable and leaving them looking and feeling extraordinary!

I did a full review of L’Oreal’s Color Riche Caresse Shine Stains last year and the Extraordinaires are quite different. The Caresse formula is a stain and much lighter in comparison (more watery), while the Extraordinaire formula packs much more colour and shine, and is more similar to the new Maybelline Color Elixirs.
Formula & Application:
The texture of the Extraordinaire Lip Colors can be described as smooth, silky and hydrating, however it is on the thicker side. It’s a very creamy finish that is jam-packed with shine. The applicator is leaf-shaped, which makes a precise application effortless. These go on more like a lip gloss and similarly do not last as long as a lipstick. The oil-based formula feels super moisturizing while on the lips and it delivers gorgeous colour. The shades that I tested were all very pigmented. Some of the lighter colours may require build-up as they appear to not pack as much pigment in some of the swatches I’ve seen. The shade range overall though is absolutely beautiful. These felt & looked great and also did not smudge on the lips, which is always an added bonus!

Packaging:
The gold packaging is pretty, although, as you’ll notice in the photos, it easily attracts fingerprints. Certainly not a deal breaker for such a great product, but worth mentioning. There is a small shade window on one side and you can also use either end of the product to identify which colour you are using.
