Have you seen Essie’s new Spring Collection Hide & Go Chic out in stores now? When I first laid eyes on it, I instantly fell in love with each of the six shades and am still having difficulty picking out a favourite. The collection includes delicate nudes, pastels, blues, red and a green….any of which can easily transition from season to season.
“Welcome to the fashion playground, where every style hunter is on the lookout for the next big splurge. It’s a thrilling game of hide and go chic. If there are too many stylish options, she’ll have to spin the bottle to decide what looks best. Or maybe she should just take them all back to the romper room and have a look in the mirror. Mirrors never lie, they just play truth or flare.”

I LOVE cream-based formulas and prefer them to metallics, shimmers and other formulations. This collection is right up my alley. It includes a gorgeous array of Spring gems and has a ”pastel” shade to suit every woman’s style.
Romper Room & Spin the Bottle both applied a bit patchy (first coat) but every other shade applied more evenly and look great in 1 or 2 coats. I liked the way the nude and pale pink looked when I applied three thin coats but you can certainly get away with only using two. Fashion Playground is a pretty shade but the shimmer was almost unnoticeable (not a bad thing). The two most unexpected polishes would have to be Hide & Go Chic and Style Hunter since they are both far more bold then you’d expect to see in a Spring collection. Hide & Go Chic also wins for having the best formula hands down.
Whether you pair these colours with a some vintage denim or a chic new dress, these nail lacquers are sure to standout as the perfect accessory! If you plan on picking up only a few of these limited edition polishes, I would definitely recommend the standout nude Spin the Bottle (despite it’s tricky application) and Style Hunter, the stunning crimson red with loads of shine!

Here’s a quick DIY tutorial of a sophisticated french mani, that I found on the Essie website using Hide & Go Chic & Truth or Flare.
1) Start off by hydrating your nails with Apricot Cuticle Oil.
2) Apply a base coat
3) Apply 2 coats of Hide & Go Chic and allow to dry
4) Using one continuous brush stroke from left to right, apply Truth or Flare on the tip of each nail
5) Shine + seal with a top coat
