Essie’s Winter 2014 Collection launched a few months ago and although I am a little late in getting you the inside scoop on this exciting limited edition nail lacquer collection, you will definitely want to pick up some of these polishes the next time you are at the drugstore! Essie’s Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low Collection breathes fresh air into a dreary Winter. A refreshing change from the typical “Holiday-inspired” collections released this time of year, this collection is uplifting and anything but traditional. It includes trendy, romantic, bold shades that are sure to pick up your spirits this season!
Shade Descriptions
Tuck It In My Tux (shade #1 below)
This semi-sheer ivory shade is subtle but lovely. I do wish it was a bit more pigmented as I prefer no more than 2 coats of polish on my nails (this one looks its best in 3 coats) but I do like how understated it is. It’s a “crelly” (cream + jelly) formula with a glossy finish but its application will take some effort. I’d recommend very thin coats for an even, streak-free application.
Back In The Limo (shade #2 below)
Another “crelly” formula in a gorgeous apricot shade. I really wanted to love this polish but I found the formula too sheer for my taste. If this shade was slightly more opaque than it would have been my favourite from the collection. If you happen to prefer translucent coverage though, then you may want to check out this sexy shade.
Bump Up The Pumps (shade #3 below)
This pink-coral cream is perfectly opaque in just one coat! It is extremely pigmented and has a beautiful glossy finish. Stunning!
Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Lo (shade #1 below)
The only metallic shade in the collection is a foiled champagne pewter that applies almost opaque in one coat. I shy away from shades like this but I have to admit, it’s a great option to have on hand for festive parties or any occasion that requires a little bling.
Jump In My Jumpsuit (shade #2 below)
A beautiful and super pigmented berry red with blue undertones. This formula, like the other creams was easy to apply and looked great in 1-2 coats. This shade is one of my favourite reds released in 2014! A must have!
Double Breasted Jacket (shade #3 below)
Another perfectly saturated cream shade. I just love these creamy polishes that barely require a second coat! This cool-toned medium pink is gorgeous and aside from Sunday Funday (also by Essie and similar) I don’t seem to have anything like it in my collection.
