There’s still some time to grab yourself an advent calendar before the official countdown to Christmas begins! Or make one if you are interested in doing a bit of DIY with something similar to saddle stitch booklet printing. I’d much rather find a beauty treat behind the doors of my Advent calendar than a chocolate and this year I’ve got my eye on a few of them. Beauty Advent calendars are a wonderful way to countdown to Christmas while enjoying the best that beauty brands have to offer. While December 1st typically marks the first day for many Advent calendars, most of them have anywhere from 12 to 24 treats up for grabs that you can enjoy all month long. There are so many great options out there – for every taste and price point. Move over chocolate! We’re celebrating the best beauty Advent calendars of 2017!
Last year, I picked up L’Occitane’s Signature Advent Calendar ($69 CAD) and loved trying out the different skin, body, bath and fragrance goodies the brand had stashed behind every hidden drawer. This year, L’Occitane released the same calendar as well as a new luxurious version (shown below). Their Premium Calendar ($134 CAD) comes with 24 drawers that open to reveal either a fragrance, a hand cream or a secret to youthful skin.

The NYX Cosmetics Lippie Countdown Advent Calendar ($65 CAD) is a must-have for any lipstick junkie and can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart this year! The calendar features 24 different lip products in various shades and includes some of NYX’s most popular formulas (Matte Lipstick, Butter Gloss, Lip Lingerie etc). This calendar is also a great way to test out different formulas and experiment with different shades that may be outside your comfort zone, without having to invest in the full-sized version.
For all you makeup and nail polish lovers out there, Quo has released two Advent calendar options this year. Their 12 Days of Colorful Healthy Nails ($40 CAD) contains 12x Quo by Orly nail polishes and their 12 Days of Beauty ($40 CAD) includes an assortment of makeup items and beauty tools sure to get anyone in the Holiday spirit! 
The Kiehl’s x Kate Moross Advent Calendar ($89 CAD) is another great calendar worth checking out this year! It includes 24 award-winning skin, body, hair and face products including my personal favourite night serum of ALL time – Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. The calendar is a great option for any women or the special man in your life! Someone buy this for me please!
From the brands super popular Beauty Flash Balm and Lip Comfort Oil to their Hydra Refreshing Mask, a full sized mascara and more, the Clarins Advent Calendar ($92 CAD) features 12 amazing makeup and skincare favourites sure to bring joy to just about anyone on your Holiday nice list! 
The Estee Lauder group (owners of Clinique, MAC, Aveda, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Origins) have launched – wait for it – a collaborative Advent Calendar for 2017 called The Beauty Countdown. Now, I hate to say this, but this calendar may already be sold out since only 1000 units were produced but it’s definitely worth a search if you’re planning on doing any online shopping.
An Advent calendar round-up would never be complete without mentioning The Body Shop. They release some of the very best Advent calendars every single year! This season, they are inviting everyone to “Play for Peace” with a gift collection chalk full of surprises! There are five different Advent Calendars to choose from including a cool Countdown to New Years Calendar (not shown) and many other play-inspired gifts that transform into fun games like mazes, dice, spinners etc. Buying an advent calendar or any other gift from the collection this year helps Syrian refugee children play in a safe place for one year. I really love the fact that The Body Shop gives back – and this time around they’re supporting the charity International Alert.
