Lancome Oscillation Powerbooster Mascara Primer

Healthy-looking lashes require more than just a standout mascara, and while you don’t always have to break the bank to achieve them, you should be conditioning and caring for your eye lashes like you do the hair on your head. I recently started using the Oscillation Powerbooster Mascara Primer ($39 CAD) from Lancome. Interestingly enough, I’ve also been asked a few times this month whether I was wearing false lashes and the answer was no.

“The power behind this mascara primer is a combination of its vibrating brush and the conditioning formula”.

More than just a primer (used before your favourite mascara), this product includes ingredients that help nurture fine/fragile lashes making them look visibly longer and more full. It conditions and protects lashes and helps them stay strong. It also improves the lash surface for mascara application.

To test this product out thoroughly, I used this under four different mascaras, including an online affordable brand, two popular drugstore mascaras and a high-end one. In a nutshell, this primer improved the wear of all four mascaras, even the one that I was prepared to toss out. The difference was very obvious.

Although nice, I don’t think the vibrating applicator is entirely necessary. I would have loved this product just as much without it. I think the formula and not the “7,000 micro-vibrations per minute” lifted and helped add volume to my lashes. I’m not too sure the vibrations had anything to do with it. If you’d rather not use the vibration, the optional on-off button allows you to decide for yourself, which is nice.

Bottom line: My mascara does not clump, feather, flake or smudge when using this. And, my lashes don’t fall out as much and look long, full & super-healthy.
Is this a necessary step in your beauty routine?
That depends on you…but it has definitely found a place in mine.
