Eyebrows are hailed as the be all and end all of any beauty regime these days, with many coveting the perfectly formed, perfectly groomed look. Many treatments have been born out of this trend, one of the most popular being microblading. Microblading is essentially tattooing individual hairs into eyebrows to create a fuller look. However, there are also less permanent options if you like to switch between lighter and heavier looks, such as applying make up for a similar effect. When it comes to brow make up, no one does it quite like Anastasia Beverly Hills and this Spring, she is releasing a brand new product called The Bold & Beautiful Kit. Beautifully packaged in what looks like a book set, both Volume 1 and Volume 2 create beautiful and balanced looks focusing exclusively on the eyes and the brows.
Volume 1: Bold Brows
This palette includes brow powder to define your eyebrows and a tinted pomade to set them. The set also includes a mini duo brush and mini tweezers that allow you to expertly groom and sculpt your brows. The brow powder is an ashy taupe shade which would be suitable for medium blonde/light brown hair. I find it too light for me, but plan to use it as an eye shadow. The pomade is a deep brown coloured wax that you use to set the brow powder. The duo brush is great and the mini sized tweezers work well at plucking the smallest hairs with precision.
Volume 2: Beautiful Eyes
This palette includes a combination of four matte and shimmering shadows in nude, peachy pink, taupe and deep black. These shadows can be worn wet or dry to create anything from a subtle, refined wash of colour to an intense nude smokey eye. This set also includes a synthetic brush. All four shadows have good colour payoff and blend well. I loved using these shadows over a cream base. The nude colour (peachy matte) worked great as a highlight!
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I think this is a great set to have in your makeup arsenal. It is great for travelling or use at home. Some of you may find the packaging a tad bulky but for “collectors” like me, I actually love it. The set will be available soon at Sephora, so check your local stores or online if you are interested.
