At the beginning of April, I started a new skincare routine using only Vichy products. If you’ve been keeping up with my updates along the way, you’ll know that in my last post, I reviewed the products from my cleansing & toning routine. Today, I’ll be weighing in on the day/night time moisturizers and eye cream I’ve been using.
The LiftActiv Serum 10 won Allure’s Best of Beauty Award in 2012 for “Big Breakthrough” product, so I couldn’t wait to try it. I used this product every morning as my primary moisturizer. The serum (appropriate for all skin types but marketed for aging skin) includes Rhamnose, a naturally derived plant sugar clinically proven to improve skin rejuvenation. It is lightweight, nourishing and provided a good amount of moisture throughout the day. The product claims and has proven efficacy on the reduction in appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and although initially skeptical, after 1 month, I actually did notice a visible improvement, specifically with my “laugh lines” and “brow wrinkles”. LiftActiv Serum 10 also improved the overall appearance of my pores and gave my skin a nice “boost of radiance”.
To help even out my skin tone, I’ve also been using the ProEven Daily Dark Spot Corrector. Discolouration usually affects all surface layers of the skin and as we age, our skin tone becomes more uneven and stubborn dark spots start to appear on the surface. This product is enriched with Ceramide Bright™, exfoliating LHA & Vitamin C and helps to reduce the look of dark spots, while making skin look more radiant. I really liked this product. I applied it all over my face (not as a spot treatment) every day and although there haven’t been any “jaw dropping” changes to my skin-tone after 1 month of use, you can definitely see some improvement. I think with continued use, this product will certainly help with my hyper-pigmentation issues.
I’m genetically predisposed to having dark under eye circles. It’s a curse that no matter how much sleep I get, the area underneath my eyes is always been noticeably darker. The eye care treatment that was recommended for me was the ProEven Daily Eye Corrector – Dark Circles & Spots. It is Vichy’s first treatment to target all causes of dark circles in the delicate eye area. It contains Ceramide Bright, Caffeine & Vitamin B3 which help fades the appearance of dark spots and brighten dark circles. I didn’t find that this product did very much to reduce the darkness underneath my eyes, however it did brighten up the area. It also did a very good job of firming the skin around my eyes, lessening the appearance of fine lines.
Any time the temperature outside changes, my skin is left feeling ultra dry and/or especially sensitive. The new and innovative Aqualia Thermal Night Spa is an absolute skincare “must have” for me. More than just a night cream, the Night Spa is basically a “sleeping mask”. It has 15 minerals that help reinforce the skin’s natural defence while balancing pH levels and aiding in skin’s regeneration. With other night time moisturizers, I typically wake up feeling as though my skin hasn’t been adequately hydrated. With this, I wake up with nourished skin that is subtle to the touch and feels invigorated. Rather than just apply it and go to bed, I leave a thick layer of this product on my skin for about 10 minutes before gently massaging in any residue. The result – skin that looks less fatigued and more radiant! I’m sold!
