Review: Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oils (Moringa, Tamanu & Monoi Oil Blends)

Last month, I was invited to the Matrix tent at Luminato (in Toronto) to get my hair touched-up using the new Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oils. It was a very hot day and I had been walking around the city with my family, so when we finally arrived, my hair was in desperate need of some love. The Matrix stylist treated my hair with the “Moringa Oil” treatment before giving me back some of the loose curls I had lost in all that humidity hours before. The oil he chose for my hair type is meant to give hair instant sheen, nourishment and control. It works by restoring moisture and shine back to dull/dry hair while controlling frizz. I learned a lot about the new range of products, ran into fashion blogger Deanne (she always looks so stunning!) and enjoyed the company of one of my favourite PR ladies (you know who you are :-).

The new lineup includes three different oils for different hair types. Here is a summary for each one.

Moringa Oil Replenishing Treatment

> Provides weightless conditioning and shine
> Replenishes hair and helps control frizz for manageability
> Conditions and protects hair against environmental agressors
> Suitable for all hair types
Moringa Oil Replenishing Treatment

Tamanu Oil Strengthening Treatment

> The newest oil in the range with a Polynesian Tamanu Oil blend
> Penetrates deep into the cortex to strengthen hair and boost it’s resistance to breakage
> Provides an ultra-shine finish
> Created for thin and fragile hair types
** This oil has been working wonders in detangling my daughter’s super fine hair. It’s non-greasy and doesn’t weigh her hair down.
Tamuna Oil Strengthening Treatment

Monoi Oil Softening Treatment

> Contains a Tahitian Monoi Oil blend
> Conditions the cuticle (making hair soft) & promotes shine
> Promotes fiber elasticity for increased softness and ultimate manageability
> For best results, use on thick/course hair
Monoi Oil Softening Treatment
These exquisite oils have many uses. You can use any of them on face-framing pieces of hair for more manageability. Apply a few drops to extra-dry ends and leave on overnight to make a great non-greasy treatment, or apply throughout the hair before blow drying or using a flat iron. This will give the hair instant lustre and shine. My favourite use for this product is adding a few pumps to my conditioner for added brilliance and softness. I’ve been doing this 3x/week and have noticed less breakage and healthier ends.
