Coca Cola by OPI Nail Polish Collection for Summer 2014 (Review, Photos & Swatches)

OPI has partnered with the Coca-Cola Company for their latest collaboration of limited edition nail lacquers. The 9 new shades take their inspiration from Coca-Cola’s most recognized beverages. As suspected, the collection includes a classic fire-engine red (Coca-Cola), a metallic silver (Diet Coke) and a shimmering citrus green (Sprite)… but it also has some surprisingly unique shades.

I have four of the polishes from this collection to share with you today. I really wanted to swatch the metallic shade “Green on the Runway” for you, but unfortunately media samples of that particular shade were unavailable. If you’ve followed this site for awhile though, you know that I’m a sucker for milky cream polishes, so let’s take a closer look at the ones from this collection:

You’re So Vain-illa is a great neutral that you can wear all year long. Inspired by Vanilla Coke, the light beige cream has a decent formula that improves with each coat applied. Just make sure to apply thin coats, since rich neutrals like this one tend to be streaky if applied thick.

Sorry I’m Fizzy Today is a light creamy pink with slight peach undertones. This shade, although really pretty, is confusing since it doesn’t resemble Vanilla Coke, the beverage that it takes its inspiration from. It also isn’t “Fizzy” in any way? The formula of this polish is good however, and looks best in two thin coats.

Get Cherried Away can be described as a black cherry creme but I find it to be lighter than cherry and more comparable to a plum. It takes its inspiration from Cherry Coke and has an extraordinary formula that is easy to work with and apply. A great cream and a lovely shade!
A Grape Affair is a gorgeous dark purple creme with a high-shine finish. Inspired by grape-flavoured Fanta, this shade has a really nice consistency and applies almost opaque in just one coat! If you like “vampy” or deep, rich shades, you will really enjoy this one.
