This Fall, Shu Uemura launches its Brave Beauty Collection which features a gorgeous lineup of lipsticks, cheek colour sticks, gel liners, eye shadow palettes and accessories. The new collection kicks off an annual project for the brand that involves the release of inspired collections called Vision of Beauty. This year’s theme is Brave Beauty – a tribute to women as modern day warriors which also happens to take its inspiration from the jungle. Think fearless feminine warriors in colourful camouflage. Oh yeah! At first glance, some of the products may intimidate you but as you begin to work with them, you will soon realize just how wearable they actually are.

Brave Beauty Eye Palettes
The 3 new eye shadow palettes: Pink, Orange & Green each feature an array of shades and textures from easy to use neutrals to eye catching matte artist shades.

Orange Palette
Ultra-bright orange accent (surprisingly wearable!), deep brown and plum for definition and sandy pearls for highlighting.

Green Palette 
Forest inspired hues including a vivid matte green artist accent shade, base shades with hints of brown and grey and metallic/pearl greens for definition.  

Pink Palette (not shown)
A harmony of rich burgundy and purple for definition to light rose shades to highlight your most feminine side.

The quality of these shadow vary across the board with the matte shades being slightly more difficult to work with. I would definitely recommend using a firm shadow brush with those. Overall however, the shadows were easy to blend and velvety smooth in consistency. I love how beautifully coordinated each of the palettes are… especially ‘Orange’!

These cream highlight and cheek colour sticks offer satin-like radiant colour and convenient on-the-go packaging. Simply twist up the product and apply to your skin to achieve sun-kissed radiance, a natural looking flush or an alluring look depending on the shade you choose. I loved the cheek colour in pink so much that I’ve already added the highlighting stick in light pink to my wish list!

Brave Beauty Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks
No look is ever complete without adorning the lips. 6 new shades of hyper-pigmented lipsticks deliver comfortable, moisturizing wear and an incredible melting texture.  These lipsticks feel like silk on and have really good staying power! Although I personally couldn’t pull off the orange shade, the beige shade has found a permanent home in my handbag for Fall.
