Dior Skyline Fall 2016 Collection: Face Products (Photos & Swatches)

Today’s post is Part Two of the Dior Skyline Collection for Fall 2016 – which will focus on the concealing, illuminating, strobing and contouring products in the collection. For a review and swatches of Part One: Eyes, Lips & Nails – click here.

Very much like the Eiffel Tower, our complexion can soar to magical heights when it lights up. The face products in the Skyline collection really focus on luminosity and on creating bright, beautiful and glowing skin. With the right products and tools, all of us can achieve basic contouring and strobing techniques. The basic gist of it is that dark shades deepen your features (contour) and light shades add volume (highlight or strobe).

Before any contour and highlight can be added to the complexion, pigmentation and colour issues need to be corrected. Dior’s Fix It Colour 2-in-1 Prime & Colour Correct ($45 CAD) are colour correcting sticks that were designed to blur skin’s texture and smooth out imperfections. Each shade was created to target and conceal a specific colour irregularity. For example, #200 Apricot reduces dark spots and hyper-pigmentation and brings warmth to dull skin tones (ideal for darker skin tones) while #300 Yellow erases plum-tinged discolouration (i.e. dark circles, blood vessels) and is great for lighter skin tones. #400 Green helps to neutralize redness on the skin and #100 Blue (not shown) evens out tired, sallow & dull skin. In addition to the 4 colour correcting products, Skyline also features Dior’s Fix It Colour 2-in-1 Prime & Conceal (shown below in #004 Dark Honey – but also available in Light & Medium shades) a targeted concealer that reduces the look of pores and fine lines for a flawlessly even complexion.

The limited edition Diorblush Light & Contour Sculpting Stick Duos ($48 CAD) are double ended masterpieces with contrasting finishes on each end to strobe and contour your face. Strobing is a major beauty trend and easier to achieve than contouring in my opinion. Just apply the lighter shade of these duos to your brow bones, cheekbones, cupids bow and anywhere else that catches and reflects light for J-Lo worthy skin! It’s really simple. The darker shade of these duos can be used in the hollow of your cheeks, across your jaw line and along the bridge of your nose for dimension and added contouring.

My favourite product in the Skyline collection are hands down the Dior Flash Luminizer Radiance Boosting Pens ($52 CAD). With just a few clicks, this product sculpts the face, eliminates signs of fatigue (#002 has been my ride or die product this Summer!), illuminates the eyes and enhances the lip contour. These highlighting/concealing pens can also be used to conceal imperfections and are available year round!

Lastly, Dior’s Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Shimmering Sculpting Powder in #001 ($68 CAD) is a universal powder full of illuminating pigments that adapts to any skin tone. The effect is gorgeous, glowing skin that looks so luminous. I like using this shimmery formula with a light hand to set cream highlight and contour products like the Diorblush Light & Contour Duo above!
