CND Vinylux Hits the Open Road this Spring (Photos, Review & Swatches)

Creative Nail Design (CND), the makers of SHELLAC polish also have an at-home range called Vinylux. This weekly polish system promises 7 day wear and comes in 62 fashion forward colours. This Spring, CND is excited to launch Open Road (available in both Shellac & VINYLUX)….. a collection of 6 fresh, boho-chic shades that will surely make us forgot about this polar vortex we’ve been having here in Canada. The collection has a very relaxed vibe to it, which isn’t the typical, bright shades you’d expect to see for Spring. “It inspires women to let their hair loose, put the top down and drive towards the sunset.”

VINYLUX Weekly Polish System

> Offers durable, high-shine and week-long wear
> Includes a self-adhering Color Coat that eliminates the need for a base coat
> Includes a Top Coat with new Pro-Light technology
> Dries faster (8 1/2 minutes)
> Hardens when exposed to natural UV light
> Extensive shade range (40 shades also available in Shellac)

How it Works

Applying nail polish usually involves 3 steps (base coat, colour & top coat). The Vinylux Weekly Polish System only requires 2 steps.

Step #1 – Apply two thin coats of Vinylux Weekly Polish shade of choice
Step #2 – Apply one coat of Vinylux Weekly Top Coat

The System toughens overtime with exposure to natural light and removes easily with an acetone-based polish remover in just one minute!

Availability

Vinylux will be available as a salon service or for individual purchase at Trade Secrets, Chatters and other select salons worldwide soon. (May 2014) You can also find Open Road now, online at Nail Polish Canada.

Application

These colours were put to the test recently and applied really nicely. It was nice to eliminate a step (base coat) however I must say the top coat is essential and seemed to really extend polish wear. It also added a great deal of shine. Polishes that were tested without the top coat, chipped faster and weren’t as glossy looking. The drying time was approximately 10 minutes, and the colour lasted about 5 days before starting to chip at the edges.
