Elizabeth Arden: New York in Bloom Spring/Summer 2013 Limited Edition Color Collection

The Spring/Summer 2013 color collection by Elizabeth Arden was inspired by the vibrancy of blossoming flowers in New York and blends a kaleidoscope of bold, urban colours and soft neutrals. Eyes are lined and brightened by shimmering nude, pink, violet and blue/green shadows. Cheeks are flushed with a golden bronze glow. Nails dazzle with brilliant shades of purple and teal.

The New York in Bloom collection includes a total of sixteen products…. from bronzing powder, blush, lip gloss and mascara to nail lacquer duos, bold eyeliner pencils and eye shadow trios. It has been available online and at counters since March but will only be available for a limited time. I think the most notable item from this collection is the Pure Finish Radiant Bronzing Powder. It is lightweight, has a silky smooth texture and imparts a luminous bronzed glow with a hint of pink and gold. Infused with anti-oxidants, this mineral-based powder creates a healthy looking complexion. Key ingredients include Vitamin E, Argan Oil, Oleic & Linoleic acids (helps with moisture retention) and microlight minerals that help soften the look of fine lines/wrinkles. I have this bronzing powder in “Warm” and absolutely LOVE how pretty the embossed floral detail is. Isn’t it just beautiful?

The Eye Shadow Trio for this collection is available in 2 shade options. Each palette contains three shadows, in matte, metallic and shimmer finishes that highlight, contour and accentuate the eyes. The shadows can be applied wet or dry and while I’ve liked using them dry, I must say, I’ve really been loving using them wet as eyeliners. Again, the embossed intricate floral texture is stunning!

The Bold Eye Pencils come in three shade options and are conveniently packaged with their own pencil sharpener. They deliver high-pigment color in just one-stroke. These pencils are more of a luxury item since I find the price to be on the high side for 2.48g of product. But, the colours are gorgeous and complement each other well!

The Nail Lacquer Duo is a double-sided polish that includes a trend-inspired colour on one end and a ultra glossy clear gel-like topcoat on the other. I love the Teal shade I have below and can see myself wearing it a lot on both my finger and toenails as the weather continues to warm up here in Canada.
