Dior Birds of Paradise: Limited Edition Summer 2013 Collection

Legend has it that the “Bird of Paradise” flies through the skies, never coming down to earth. Free, flamboyant and elusive, this imaginary bird is the inspiration for this Summer’s 2013 Birds of Paradise limited edition Couture Collection by Dior, available now at your local counter. Birds of Paradise includes two eyeshadow palettes, a waterproof liner, two Dior Addict lipsticks, a lip maximizer, three Jelly Lip Pens, two Vernis Duos, two Nude Tan Paradise Blushes, a BB Creme and a brush. Four of the items from this wonderful collection can be seen below…

My first impression of this collection was a good one. I really like how each of the product shades have been expertly matched to complement each other and how each colour in the collection has an exotic feel to it. Of the products I’ve tried, the polishes have the best pigmentation. They also have a wonderful formula/texture that is consistent with other Le Vernis Lacquers from Dior. The only difference is these ones are about 1/3 smaller in size and come in a duo pack. The Dior Addict Lipstick in this collection is also great and packs the same benefits as those in the regular line. New to me, were the Jelly Lip Pens, which combine gloss, colour and moisture in one product. These are similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks, although I found this one by Dior to be much more hydrating for my taste. I haven’t had a chance to really play around with the Eyeshadow Palette but expect a full review of that up on this site soon! Also, if there is anything specific you’d like to see a more in-depth review on, please let me know in the comment section below.
