Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows (Review, Photos & Swatches)

In celebration of Make Up For Ever‘s 30th Anniversary, the brand recently released their new collection of Artist Shadows – an extensive range of highly pigmented eye shadows three years in the making! The breakthrough formula is based on Pigment Atomization (maximizes color delivery up to 88%) and Water-Blend Technology (allows for even texture & blendability). The range includes 210 shades of eye shadow which offers endless possibilities to achieve both natural beauty looks to highly artistic ones. There are so many options available and literally something for everyone. Available in 5 finishes – Matte, Satin, Metal, Iridescent & Diamond, each shadow is labelled to identify its finish and it’s association on the Color Wheel (i.e. S-924 – S=Satin 9=Purple family 24=shade). The shadows are sold as singles but can also be purchased in duo and trio palettes making them 100% customizable!

These eye shadows deliver exactly what you see in the pan and some! Their application is smooth and their pigmentation is incredible. These are a “must try” for anyone who loves eye shadow! The range offers so many options – both in shade and finish – that I would be extremely surprised if someone didn’t find something to absolutely fall in love with. The customization aspect is something I can certainly appreciate because often times, palettes contain one or more shades that go unused. With these ….you select the shades you want, allowing for endless creative possibilities.

Pricing:
> Each shadow can be purchased individually for $21 USD/$24 CAD
> Personalized palettes can be made by purchasing an empty single, duo or trio case for $1
> Buy more & save – purchase 2 shadows & your price per shadow drops to $19 & $16 when buying 3 shadows

Shades:
There are anywhere between 30-55 shades available from each finish category with the largest variety available being the Iridescent finish. The Diamond finish has the least variety but is incredibly beautiful as you will see in one of the swatches below. I wanted to try a few different finishes so I selected the following shades to review:

D-708 – Pinky Copper (diamond)
I-328 – Bronze (iridescent)
S-622 – Black Brown (satin)
