Barbie Fashionista Dolls & My Daughters #SuperStyle (+ Giveaway!)

My 8-year-old daughter is quite the little fashionista! She loves trying new things when it comes to style and doesn’t care whether it makes sense or not. She’s getting better at matching colours and patterns but the one thing that is an absolute MUST for her is comfort. At about the age of 6, she started battling me when I wanted her to wear jeans or anything constricting. If it had a button or zipper and it wasn’t made of cotton then she wouldn’t wear it! Things have improved a bit since then but she can still be quite finicky. She knows what she likes and is only willing to compromise if there is comfort involved. I guess I shouldn’t complain. She is strong-willed like her mama bear.

Jenna“Fashion and style are a creative form of self-expression and no one knows this better than Barbie®. For decades, Barbie® has used the latest trends from around the world to express herself and her own personal style. This month, Barbie® is encouraging little ones to #BeSuper by using their own #SuperStyle and to show the world who they are inside. Kids love to express themselves through their fashion choices. Now, with the Barbie® Fashionista dolls, they can take this one step further and use the dolls to outwardly express what makes them beautiful on the inside to showcase their uniqueness and individuality”.

Barbie® Fashionista dolls includes 23 uniquely styled Barbie’s with eight different skin tones. These new Barbie’s also have 18 different eye colours, 22 hairstyles and are all dressed in trendy, authentic street fashions!
This month, Barbie® and my friends at Walmart challenged a group of Mom Bloggers to participate in a #SuperStyle challenge. The task was simple enough: have our little fashionistas show us how they express themselves in their own unique way with their personal style choices! My daughter was stoked to participate and as you can see from the photos below, she ended up choosing clothes and accessories that were comfortable and items that she was able to move freely in. My daughter loves to dance so doing cartwheels, somersaults, walk overs and leg pulls are as common to her as walking. Imagine doing those moves in a pair of skinny jeans or a pretty dress. She kind of has a point, doesn’t she?
