The temperature outside went from shorts & t-shirt weather to cold & rainy overnight. And while I couldn’t be happier to have fall grace us with its presence, I do wish Mother Nature gave us a bit more notice. But, you know what “they” say… Mother Nature is like life – unpredictable! There will be sunny days and cloudy ones, but only you have the power to weather your life.
Instead of packing up my summer essentials, I decided to spend last weekend updating my fall/winter wardrobe with a few new pieces from Walmart. To be perfectly honest, I don’t normally shop at Walmart but George’s Fall Collection recently sparked my interest. I decided to try a few things on & am really happy that I did! The George line is affordable and practical, but most of all, every item I purchased is cozy! And I’m a firm believer that style doesn’t have to be uncomfortable AND it doesn’t have to break the bank! I got the entire outfit below for about $120 but if you have a basic pair of black leggings at home, you could get away with spending only $100 for everything below including the jewelry and shoes!
The George leggings I picked up are my definition of cozy chic. They have no hardware (zippers or buttons) on them and they’re made from the most comfortable stretch fabric. I know I’ll be putting these to good use on days where I don’t have as much time to plan a work outfit. They are effortless and pair well with any longer top or sweater. They also have a cute panel on the side (just below the knee) which I think give them a bit of edge. Because I’m a closet rockstar and they were only $19.97, I just had to have them.
The lace-up sandals ($32.97) are a perfect transition shoe for fall weather. They keep your feet warm (ish) but are open-toed so you can still show off those summer pedicures. They are really comfortable and can easily be worn all day without any pain. Score!
The George cardigan I found is my favourite piece. It’s as cozy as sweaters come and just the right length for a girl my height (I’m 5ft. 4 inches btw). I also picked up the cutest burgundy cami (only $12.97!!) and a few jewelry items to complete the look.
Since my shopping trip to Walmart was such a success, I’ve been checking out their online store more often and even made myself a style board to provide me with some extra style inspiration. Check out these replica Chuck Taylors and cute fringe booties!! What do you think of the outfit I picked up above or the items I pulled for inspiration below? Anyone else have luck finding any #FallLooksforLess at their local store?
